Daggett Shuler Teams with Winston-Salem Police Department to Help Local Elementary School Children in 2017

Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law has teamed with the Winston-Salem Police Department to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to local elementary school aged children who need help getting all the materials required to have a successful school year.

(Winston-Salem, NC) August 23, 2017 – Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce their continued partnership with the Winston-Salem Police Department to help local children get the supplies they need at the beginning of the school year.

The back to school season is an expensive one, especially for families who are already financially strained. The Daggett Shuler Back-to-School Backpack Program aims to ease this financial burden on those families by providing backpacks filled with school supplies to students who otherwise would not have all the materials they need for a successful year in the classroom.

The Daggett Shuler/Winston-Salem Police Department team distributed backpacks filled with school supplies to five local elementary schools. Each school received 50 backpacks. The schools, familiar with their students, will identify the students most in need to receive the backpacks.  Each backpack is filled with notebook paper, a notebook, a two-pocket folder, pencils, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, a bookmark, glue, scissors, and crayons; everything that an elementary-aged student needs to start the school year off on the right foot.

“We are so excited to be reaching out to the local community again this year with the Winston-Salem Police Department,” says David Daggett. “The Winston-Salem PD is committed to assist those in our community who need an extra hand, and we are thrilled to join forces with them on this project.”

“This is a special treat to have Winston-Salem Police Department Chief Rountree with us as he is retiring next week,” Griff Shuler said. “This whole community will miss him and his leadership and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Chief Rountree, David Daggett, Griff Shuler and members of the Winston-Salem Police Department personally delivered the backpacks and had to a fantastic time. At each school they received warm welcome and were assured of their impact on the lives of these young students.
