At Daggett Shuler, Attorneys at Law, we are invested in helping students and members of the community succeed, and we offer many special programs like the Daggett Shuler College Scholarship Essay Program to do just that.
The program gives a $1,000 scholarship awarded each year, for the recipient to put towards their tuition to pursue any field of study from an accredited college.
This year’s essay topic was on the dangers of texting and driving and drinking and driving. The essay program was open to all prospective or current undergraduate students attending an accredited college or university.
The 2017 winner of the $1,000 Daggett Shuler College Scholarship Essay Program is Celta, a freshman at Thomas Aquinas College who will be majoring in liberal arts.
Celta chose to focus her essay on the dangers of drinking and driving. She described the multiple strategies she would use in order to prevent a loved one from getting behind the wheel intoxicated. She also touched on some very personal experiences her friends and family went through as a result of a car accident involving an intoxicated driver.
Celta has already gone above and beyond to make sure her peers are educated on the risks of drinking and driving through an informative video she produced.
Thank you to all students who submitted an essay this year, each and everyone was unique with great ways to prevent someone from driving distracted or intoxicated. We look forward to seeing what next year will bring!
