Speeding Driver Causes Fatal Accident on Thanksgiving Day

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 9,262 drivers in the United States died in traffic accidents involving speeding drivers in 2014. That number represents 28% of all driver fatalities nationwide. The dangers of speeding and reckless driving become even more severe around the holiday season when traffic volume is much higher than normal.

Sadly, on Thanksgiving Day, a tragic accident involving a speeding driver left two local North Carolina residents fatally injured. North Carolina Highway Patrol officers said that the driver was traveling at over 100mph in a 65mph zone when the crash occurred on Thursday 11/26. The driver was also not wearing his seatbelt.
